Liverna 2010

Our delicious Cabernet / Grenache / Merlot.

13.5% ALCOHOL
CABERNET SAUVIGNON 70 % GRENACHE 20% MERLOT 10 %

Yields of an average 45 hectolitres per hectare from 18 year old vines.
Harvested late September, immediately destemmed, and fermented rapidly at low temperatures to extract fruit and soft tannins. A short maturation in used oak demi muids is undertaken
before bottling.

"Purple in colour. The nose opens with notes of cocoa and a nice, ripe red fruit. In the mouth, we love its size and melted, fine texture, its aromas and final touch of firmness that helps its balance and personality. Well done. 86/100"

 

 

About the name...

The Liverna valley is on the outskirts of Aubais, and it is where the vineyards are located. Ninety three million years ago it was the sea bed. Today it is a fertile valley bordered by rocky outcrops of wooded hills and terraces. In my village it is spelt with an 'a' at the end. Our neighbours add a 't'. Take your choice.
